Delta Promotes Seoul Travel at Seattle Tailgate
Delta Air Lines used a Seattle football tailgate to promote Seoul, South Korea, and its daily flights from Seattle to Seoul on the A350.
Delta Air Lines brought a taste of South Korea to a Seattle football tailgate on Sunday to promote its daily flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Seoul-Incheon International Airport (ICN). The “Three-Minute Vacation” activation gave nearly 1,000 fans a brief preview of the destination to encourage future travel to South Korea.
Inside the Seoul-Inspired Tailgate
The activation used Korean culture to offer a quick escape from the game-day environment. Guests ate Korean salt bread, a savory baked treat. The space also featured a gallery of Seoul-inspired photography, traditional pottery, and Korean-style floral arrangements.
Flight Details and Aircraft
Delta operates daily, year-round service between SEA and ICN. This route uses the Airbus A350-900. The aircraft type impacts the long-haul experience because it is quieter and more fuel-efficient than older models like the Boeing 767. Through a partnership with Korean Air, Delta also allows travelers to connect to various destinations across Asia.
Tips for Travelers
Seattle is a primary hub for transpacific travel. Delta competes with Alaska Airlines and several Asian carriers on these routes. If you plan to book a trip to Seoul, keep these details in mind:
- SkyMiles and SkyTeam: Delta SkyMiles members can use their miles with SkyTeam partners like Korean Air to manage connections through Asia.
- Transfer Partners: You can transfer American Express Membership Rewards to Delta SkyMiles at a 1:1 ratio.
- Award Pricing: Delta uses dynamic pricing, so the miles required for a flight change based on demand. This differs from American Airlines, which uses a mix of web specials and dynamic pricing.
- Reliability: Delta often holds a higher market perception for operational reliability than its domestic competitors, American and United.
- Miles Expiration: Delta SkyMiles never expire.
Check the Delta app for A350 availability and compare mileage costs to other SkyTeam partners before you commit your miles.
